Lifting Songs Of Praise To The Lord

Ephesians 5:17

17Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

God wants us to walk as wise men and women and not as fools. (Ephesians 5:15) Now, He will not tell us to walk in wisdom without showing us how to. That’s why His Word goes on to say, “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
What is the will of God? The next two verses tell us how to identify it: “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord ”. (Ephesians 5:18–19)
As you allow yourself to be filled with the Spirit by lifting songs of praise to the Lord, singing or speaking — God knows some of us can’t sing — psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, and making melody in your heart to the Lord, God promises that you will know what His will is for your situation. You will then have the wisdom to decide wisely what to do next.
I have found this to be true in my own life. Whenever I face a difficult situation, the more I think about it, the more confused I get. The more I try my best to come up with a wise answer, the further the answer seems to get from me. But when I turn away from my problem and turn to God, singing in the Spirit and praising Him, I get a clearer perspective of the problem when I come back to it later. I also find an inner prompting to make certain decisions which in the end, turn out to be better than anything I could have come up with on my own.
So in good times, lift up songs of praise to the Lord. In bad times, still lift up songs of praise to the Lord. For when you fill your life with praise, God will lead you and guide you in all the affairs of your life. Even if you are stuck with a problem, He will show you the way to go or make a way out for you. Either way, you will get the wisdom and help that you need!

Christ Your Wisdom Will Prosper You And Astound Others

1 Corinthians 1:30

30But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God…

It is believed that there has never been a richer king than King Solomon in history. God gave him wisdom that not only made him wise in matters of justice, but also brought him gold and silver. (1 Kings 3:12–13)
Solomon was so rich that he built God a temple that would cost over US$200 billion today. Now, that amount only covers what Solomon spent on the temple, not his personal assets. It was estimated that his daily food expenses came to over US$17,000, and his priests wore garments costing over US$10 million.
We can go on talking about the riches of King Solomon but the Bible tells us that there is one greater than Solomon. (Matthew 12:42) His name is Jesus, and He is the most prosperous Man who ever lived, and who will ever live.
If there was a need to feed the hungry, He simply multiplied whatever food was placed in His hands. On one occasion, He multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed 5,000 men, not counting women and children, and incredibly still had 12 baskets full of leftovers. (Matthew 14:15–21)
If any of His own faced any lack, it was not long before abundant provision flowed to them. Once, when His disciples caught nothing after a whole night of fishing, He merely spoke a word of command and schools of fish obeyed, swimming towards His disciples’ boat until they had a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish. (Luke 5:1–7) When it came to financial need, He provided the money, even if it took a fish to bring it to them! (Matthew 17:24–27)
My friend, this same Jesus has become for you wisdom from God. If you are a businessman, with Christ in you, you have a wisdom greater than all the business gurus of the world. Christ in you, a homemaker, gives you wisdom greater than all the experts behind home magazines. And if you are a student, Christ in you will manifest wisdom greater than all the brilliant minds in the academic world.
Beloved, believe that because Jesus, God’s wisdom, is in you, there is no reason why you cannot prosper today, and astound the world in the same way that Solomon did!

Turn Your Cares Into Prayers

Philippians 4:6

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Beloved, God doesn’t want you to be fearful, fretful or anxious. Instead, God wants you to “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God ”.
So when you have a care or a worry, straightaway turn that care or worry into prayer. That’s supplication. And when you are troubled by a care or worry that you don’t know how to pray for, pray in the Spirit. And in the midst of that care or worry, thank God that He is already your healing, provision, prosperity, good success and victory. That, my friend, is thanksgiving.
“Pastor Prince, if I am worried about something, how long do I pray?”
Keep on praying, and pray in the Spirit until the care lifts, the worry dissipates “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 4:7)
This was what one of our church members did when he found himself anxiously trying to access his thumb drive to retrieve some important data. After a whole day at it with no results, he finally stopped himself from being anxious and instead turned his worry into prayer, asking the Lord to settle it for him. And as he prayed in tongues, he was thankfully repeating in his heart that having the Holy Spirit, the Helper, with him was to his advantage. (John 16:7)
Later that evening, using his wife’s computer, he succeeded in accessing the thumb drive after a few attempts. He quickly backed up all the data in the thumb drive. It was only when subsequent attempts to use the thumb drive on his wife’s computer failed did it suddenly dawn on him that God had resurrected his thumb drive from the dead that one time, just for him to recover all his data!
I believe we would worry a lot less and enjoy our lives a lot more if only we realise this truth: Our Abba Father is so strong that there is nothing He cannot do, and He is so loving that there is nothing He will not do for us!

God Is Your Rewarder

Hebrews 11:6

6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 does not end with “without faith it is impossible to please Him”. It continues with the line, “for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. In other words, the faith that pleases God is the kind of faith that believes that God exists and that He is a rewarder.
The Bible also says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11:1) Even in times of difficulty, when we do not see good things happening in our circumstances, we are to believe that God will turn things around and reward us.
God turned things around for Ruth, the Moabite widow, when she believed the Lord and made Him her God. (Ruth 1:16) The Bible tells us that Ruth was given a “full reward” by the Lord when she came under His wings for refuge. (Ruth 2:12) Not only did God give her protection, He also gave her abundant provision, exceeding favour and a glorious redemption. (Ruth 2:9–17, 3:11, 4:10–13)
When Rahab, the harlot of Jericho, heard reports of how God had opened up the Red Sea for the children of Israel, she believed that “He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath”. (Joshua 2:9–11) Though Rahab had not personally witnessed the miracles, she believed God and hid the spies from their pursuers. (Joshua 2:4–6) Because of her faith, she not only did not perish with those who did not believe (Joshua 6:25, Hebrews 11:31), but was also given a place in the “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews 11.
God was so pleased with the faith of these two Gentile women that He not only blessed them in their lifetimes, but He also put both of them into the genealogy of His Son, Jesus Christ, the great Redeemer and rewarder.
Beloved, when you come to the Lord with your needs, believe that He is God, and that He is a rewarder. God has pleasure in this kind of faith. He wants to be the rewarder of your faith in Him!

The Days Of Take, Take And Take Have Come

1 Corinthians 2:12

12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

You are a child of the Most High God and He wants you to know the things that have been freely given to you. He wants you to receive them freely although it cost Him His Son. This is His love towards you — He paid the price, but He wants you to receive freely!
Perhaps you’re asking the Lord, “How is it that I don’t have this, God? And why do I have so little of that?”
I believe He says to you, “What do you lack, my child? Health? Take it! It has been paid for with the life of My Son!
“Do you need peace of mind? My Son wore the crown of thorns on His head to give it to you. Take it!
“Lack wisdom? Take My wisdom!
“Need victory? Victory is not something you attain. It is a gift to be received. Take it!
“Take My prosperity! Take My favour! Every time you come into My Presence, take, and take some more!”
God, your heavenly Father, wants you to receive like the prodigal son, who deserved nothing, but received everything! (Luke 15:11–24) God delights in giving freely. And He delights in you receiving freely because it shows that you value and appreciate His Son’s sacrifice.
You miss it when you are busy trying to earn what has been freely given to you, when you think that you must do more for God to bless you, or that you must pay the price for it. God cannot give it to you based on your works because if it is by works, it is no longer by grace. You frustrate the grace of God and make light of Jesus’ work at Calvary.
The days of trying, earning and doing are over. The days of take, take and take have come. Take and you will bring pleasure to God’s heart. Say to Him, “Oh Father, I don’t even have the faith to believe, so I take Your faith as a gift! I live by the faith of the Son of God to believe for my miracle right now! In Jesus’ name, Amen!”

A Priesthood That Blesses And Never Curses

Hebrews 5:9–10

9And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, 10called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek”.

When Jesus died and rose again, He became our High Priest. But notice that Jesus’ priesthood is “according to the order of Melchizedek”. Why the Melchizedek priesthood?
The Melchizedek priesthood gives to man, whereas the Aaronic priesthood takes from man. We see this when Melchizedek gave bread and wine to refresh a tired Abraham after his battle with the enemy kings. (Genesis 14:14–20) So if Jesus’ priesthood is according to the Melchizedek order, then it is one in which we come into His presence to receive from Him!
Moreover, the first word that came out of Melchizedek’s mouth was “blessed” — “Blessed be Abram…” (Genesis 14:19) The Melchizedek order is just that — blessings. In other words, Jesus’ priesthood is one which blesses and never curses us!
So are we conscious of Jesus our High Priest giving to us every day? Are we alert to all the blessings coming from heaven towards us on earth? Now, it’s easy to believe God’s creation blessings — we know for sure that the sun will rise every morning.
Yet, while we have no problems believing the work of creation, we have problems believing the work of redemption. We sometimes find it hard to believe God for healing, prosperity, favour, protection, restoration and other blessings. We don’t believe easily that every day the Lord will take care of us, keep our bodies healthy and provide for all our needs.
Yet, creation is fallen. It can be a blessing as well as a curse. Sometimes, a storm arises and powerful winds and rains can destroy thousands of homes. Sometimes, dark clouds can hide the sun and make the whole day gloomy.
We can’t put our trust in creation, but we can certainly put our trust in redemption. And unlike creation, the blessings of redemption are all good and only good! The work of Jesus is not subject to the weather or anything else. The work of redemption is as sure as Jesus Himself, who died and rose again to be our High Priest to bring forth blessings for us to receive!

Born To Die

Luke 2:12

12And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.

You are probably familiar with the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. The Bible says that when the time had come, Mary “brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger”. (Luke 2:6–7) But have you ever wondered why the angel told the shepherds that the Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger was a “sign”?
A manger is actually a feeding trough for livestock. Do you know what a feeding trough in those days looked like? I have seen a similar one at Solomon’s stables in Meggido, Israel. It is basically a big rectangular block of stone with the trough hewn out of it. So baby Jesus, who was wrapped in swaddling cloths, was placed in such a stone trough.
But why was that a sign? Because if you have seen the empty tomb of Jesus at a place called The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, you would have noticed that the place where His body was laid, inside a tomb hewn out of rock, resembles a stone trough. The Bible says that after Jesus’ crucifixion and death, Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus’ body, wrapped it in linen and laid it in a tomb hewn out of a rock. (Mark 15:43–46)
Can you see the similarities? Wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger, the baby Jesus would one day be wrapped in linen and laid in a tomb! That was the sign. It pointed to Jesus’ death.
Jesus was the only child in all of humanity born to die. Once you realise that, you will realise how much God loves you.
You will realise that He gave up His Son for that one purpose, and that Jesus was willing to come for that one purpose — to die for your sins and mine. Can you imagine living your life knowing that you are just qualifying yourself to die on the cross to save the world? That’s the life that Jesus lived. He lived to die, that you might live and enjoy life abundantly today!

Do Not Be Afraid! Your Saviour Has Come!

Luke 2:10–11

10Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”

If all is silent and dark in your life now and you feel left out in the cold, just know that Jesus came to be your Saviour in such a time as this.
Jesus was born not in the comfort of a warm room, but in a cold manger. There was no room for Him in the inn (Luke 2:7) — so that there will always be room at the cross for your healing, your deliverance, your wholeness, your prosperity, and a room in heaven for you because He had no room.
Jesus was born very quietly — so quietly that the Bible says only a group of shepherds came to Him while the rest of Bethlehem slept. (Luke 2:8–9) Like manna falling quietly from heaven, Jesus the True Bread from heaven came quietly. It was a silent night. But that was not all.
Jesus was also born during the darkest time in Israel’s history. The Bible says that Israel was under the tyranny of the Romans, the most powerful Gentiles who ever dominated them. It was during this time, when everything was so dark, that Jesus was born. Beloved, Jesus is not afraid to come to you in the darkest period of your life.
The first message of heaven to man — brought by angels to the humble shepherds in the fields of Bethlehem — was “Do not be afraid”. On that cold and silent night, the shepherds were afraid. God said, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.”
It was not a judge or a lawgiver that was born. It was a Saviour who was born! He came to save His people. He came to save you and me. Even when you are in a cold, dark period of your life, don’t be afraid, for the Saviour has come and He will save you!

The Glory Of God Has Been Restored To You

John 17:22

22And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.

When God made man, the Bible says God crowned him with glory and honour. (Psalm 8:5) Now, the word “crowned” does not mean “crown” in the way a king’s crown adorns his head. No, it means “to encompass” or “to surround like a glorious circle”. The glory of God was therefore man’s clothing. Adam’s whole being was gloriously radiant and shining.
Now, when man sinned against God, he forfeited the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) But when Jesus Christ was born, the glory of God came down. (Luke 2:9) And our Lord Jesus, before He died, said to His Father, “… the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” The glory of God which man forfeited has now been restored because Jesus has come. My friend, when Jesus died on the cross, He took our shame, gave us His righteousness and restored the glory of God to us.
But what exactly is this glory of God? Doxa, the Greek word for “glory”, means “having a good opinion concerning one that results in praise, honour, and glory”. This means that in restoring to us His glory, God wants us to have the sense that we are praise-worthy, honourable and glorious because of His constant good opinion of us!
My friend, when God’s glory is on you, there is a weightiness about you. People don’t know why, but their spirits are lifted when they are in your presence. There is something about you that impacts them even if they have only been with you for a little while. People listen when you talk because there is substance in what you say. God’s glory in your life will make you a heavyweight.
When God’s glory is on you, you can expect it to touch every aspect of your life — your finances, your relationships, your work and your health. For example, your body will shine with the glory of God — with divine health.
So beloved, because Jesus has come and restored the glory of God to you, be conscious that there is a weightiness about you and arise, shine, for the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!

O Holy Night!

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

Joy To The World Lyrics

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

I Am Rich Because Christ Was Made Poor

2 Corinthians 8:9

9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

When we think of God, we think of the richest being in the whole universe. But did you know that our Lord Jesus was actually born into a poor family? We know this from the offering His mother, Mary, brought to the temple after Jesus was born, according to the Law for purification. (Luke 2:22–24) She brought a pair of turtledoves or young pigeons which was the offering of the poor. (Leviticus 12:2, 8)
But with Jesus in their lives, His family didn’t remain poor. After Jesus was born, the Bible tells us that wise men came to Him — “And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (Matthew 2:11)
His presence brought in gold, frankincense and myrrh (two of the most expensive spices) to His family. Now, the wise men must have come with quite an entourage for the Bible records how all Jerusalem was fearful when the wise men came to Jerusalem (Matthew 2:3). Can you imagine the amount of gold, frankincense and myrrh which accompanied that entourage, and which came into His family?
My friend, the moment you are born again, you have Jesus in your life. And when you have Jesus in your life, you can get ready to prosper for when He is in your life, gold will come to you! But don’t look for the gold, look to Jesus — He is the power to get wealth. The presence of the Son of the living God, the Lord Jesus Christ, in your life brings in the gold. The Bible tells us that because of His grace toward us, Jesus, though He was rich, was made poor at the cross for your sake so that “you through His poverty might become rich”.
Beloved, when you have Him in your life, and when you know He has paid the price for your prosperity, you can declare, “I am rich because Jesus was made poor on the cross!”

Sow Where You Want A Harvest

Genesis 26:12

12Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.

When you sow apple seeds, you get apples. When you sow seeds of friendship, you get friends. If in the natural, you receive in the area in which you sow your seeds, how much more will you receive in the supernatural when God blesses you!
The Bible tells us that when Isaac sowed in the land, he reaped a hundredfold even though there was a famine in that land. (Genesis 26:1, 12) The reason was that “the Lord blessed him”.
So if you are believing God for a breakthrough in a particular area, sow in that area. That was how our church went about setting up its first childcare centre years ago. One of the first things we did was to sow a childcare centre for a Christian organisation in Thailand.
And within the first month, our childcare centre made a very handsome profit. This was amazing considering the fact that we took over the location of a previous childcare centre which had closed down because it was making losses. It could only be the Lord blessing us. And He “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think”. (Ephesians 3:20)
Whatever money or time you give to the Lord, He will multiply back to you. For example, you have 24 hours a day like everyone else, but the Lord can make your day very fruitful. And even after doing all that needs to be done, you will find that you still have so much time left to rest.
Even when you have nothing to give but prayers, your prayers will not return to you void. God can answer them exceedingly above what you have asked. When Job lost everything that he possessed, he prayed for his friends, and the Lord not only restored his losses, but “gave Job twice as much as he had before”. (Job 42:10)
So start sowing seeds in the area that you are believing God for, and know that before long, you will be reaping your harvest!

Confess God's Word And Activate His Angels

Psalm 103:20

20Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.

Notice that the verse says that angels are “heeding the voice of His word”. Now, who gives voice to God’s Word? Each time you and I quote God’s Word aloud, we give voice to His Word. And when angels hear God’s Word given voice, they respond!
The Bible says that at the end of Daniel’s three weeks of fasting and praying for an answer from God, Angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel and said to him, “I have come because of your words.” (Daniel 10:12)
So when angels hear you saying, “Thank you, Father, no evil shall befall me nor shall any plague come near my dwelling” (Psalm 91:10), they will come to your aid because you are giving voice to God’s Word.
And even if you do not quote a verse perfectly, they can still come to your rescue. This was what happened to a lady in America. While walking home after an evening church service, she was attacked from behind by a man and dragged towards a dark corner in an alley. In that frantic state, she remembered only one word from that evening’s sermon. So she shouted, “Feathers! Feathers!” The man released her and fled.
Feathers? What did she mean? She was actually referring to Psalm 91:4 — “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge”. In that state of panic, she remembered only one word — “feathers”, and it was enough to cause her attacker to flee. You see, it is not the ability to quote a whole verse accurately that has power, but faith in God, which is released by quoting just one word.
If you know God’s Word by heart, but do not open your mouth to proclaim His promises, the power of His Word cannot be released. The Bible does not say that angels heed His Word. It says, “… His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.” So give voice to God’s Word and see His angels respond. Angels are activated when you speak His Word!

God Is Raining Blessings On You

Deuteronomy 28:12

12The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Rain represents blessings in the Bible. Even today, Israelis thank God when it rains because they know that when God gives them rain, their blessings will be plentiful. Their cattle will feed in large pastures and eat cured, winnowed fodder. And when they see rivers and streams of water flowing from their mountains and hills (Isaiah 30:23–25), they know that times of refreshing have come.
Likewise, you can expect God to rain His blessings on you and bless the work of your hands. Then you will come to a place where you will “lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow”. In fact, Jesus wants you to know that this is a blessing He has paid for for you to have because when He died, He did not even have a tomb of His own. He was laid in a borrowed tomb so that you can have the power to lend.
Indeed, our church bears testimony to this blessing. When I first joined this church full-time, it was a very small church of 100-odd members. The Lord has, however, rained His blessings on us and blessed all the work of our hands. Today, we have a congregation of more than 13,000 members and we are still growing. In fact, our church is lending its support to many ministries, both locally and overseas. We continue to see God pouring His blessings of prosperity and increase on us, and we thank Him for all the good things that are happening to us.
In the natural, there is nothing you can do about the rain but to let it fall. So just expect God to rain His blessings on you and let them fall! And you will be blessed with more than enough, so that after your needs and your family’s needs are met, you can be a channel of blessing to others too!

You Are An Heir Of God

Galatians 4:6–7

6And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

“If you are a Christian, why are you sick?”
“If your heavenly Father is so wonderful, why do you have so many problems?
“Doesn’t your God help you, His child?”
Imagine such questions levelled at you. If you are tempted to ask, “God, I am Your child. Why is this happening to me?” know that Jesus knows how you feel because 2,000 years ago, the devil played the same trick on Him — “If you are the Son of God…” (Matthew 4:3) You see, his intention was to make Jesus doubt His Sonship, and the devil wants to do the same thing to you today.
The devil wants to destroy the Spirit of sonship in you and in the body of believers. He knows that once you really believe that you are a son of God, something happens — you begin to live life as “an heir of God through Christ”.
As a son, you inherit! You inherit all the blessings of God which Jesus died to give you, including salvation, healing, prosperity, wholeness, favour, intimacy with God and answered prayers. And Jesus rose from the dead to make sure that what He died to give you, you get! He is alive today to enforce this rich, blood-bought inheritance in your life!
You are an heir of God through Christ. This means that you are joint heirs with Jesus — what He inherits, you inherit.
What is prosperity when you are an heir of God? All the diamonds and gold came from Him. What is provision when you are an heir of God? God owns every beast in the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills. What is healing when you are an heir of God? God is your Creator and the very breath of your life.
Enjoy every bit of your inheritance in Christ, not because you deserve it, but because it was paid for by Jesus’ blood. It is your blood-bought right!

God Always Wants You Well

John 14:9

9Jesus said to him, “… He who has seen Me has seen the Father…”

Imagine the following scenario:
“Come here, girl. Mummy says that you have been playing by the roadside. Is that true?”
“Yes, Daddy. I’m sorry.”
“Sorry? How many times have I told you that you must not play near the road? Come here! Now, lie down on the road and stretch out your legs!”
Daddy drives his car over his little girl’s legs. There is the sound of bones being crushed and the poor girl screams in pain.
“Now girl, you know Daddy loves you. And Daddy did that to you to teach you a lesson, to tell you that playing by the roadside is dangerous.”
If you are shaking your head in horror by now, wondering which sick mind would do that to one’s own daughter, imagine what people are accusing our heavenly Father of — that He gives sicknesses, accidents, destruction and even death just to teach people lessons.
Jesus said, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.” Jesus is the nature of God in action. Throughout the gospel, we see God going about healing the sick. If God wants people sick, there should at least be one incident in the gospel where you see Him saying, “Behold, your complexion is too lovely, receive leprosy,” or “Blindness is good for you. Remain blind.” But no, never once! In fact, Jesus “went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil”. (Acts 10:38) That’s the heart of God.
As a father, if your child is sick and in great pain, your heart just wants him well. How much more your heavenly Father! God does not give your child sicknesses to teach both of you some lesson or to glorify Himself. To think so is to talk out of a warped mind bound by religion! Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with your Father in heaven. It is a heart matter.
And His heart speaks to your heart, saying, “I will never ever punish My children. I do not wish you ill. I will not take away your child. I will not give you car wrecks to teach you a lesson. My heart always wants My children well!”

Release The Anointing

Leviticus 2:1

1When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.

In the Bible, oil always speaks of the Holy Spirit. The grain offering of fine flour which had oil poured on it in the Old Testament speaks of Jesus’ humanity being anointed by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is fully God, but when He came to earth, He literally emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant. (Philippians 2:7) That is why He needed to be anointed of the Holy Spirit. (John 1:33) This means that though fully God, He did things by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was anointed to bring the blessings of God into the lives of people. He first spoke of His anointing when He was preaching in His home town — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…” (Luke 4:18)
He was anointed to make the poor rich. He did it for the fishermen by giving them a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish. He did it at a poor man’s wedding feast in Cana where He turned water into the best wine for the man and his new bride.
Today, Jesus’ anointing has come upon you. How is His anointing released through you? When you call upon His name. In Song of Solomon 1:3, the virgins, representing the church, love His name, which is like ointment poured forth when spoken. When they call upon His Name, His fragrance is released and the anointing is poured forth.
So when you call upon the name of Jesus, you are releasing His anointing. Call upon His name when you are feeling down and His anointing will lift your spirit up. If you are feeling dry and empty, just say, “Jesus, Jesus.” Before you know it, a river of refreshing will gush forth as His anointing flows. Call upon His name when you need a breakthrough and His anointing will release to you the miracle.
Romans 10:13 says that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. So call on His name and watch His anointing release your deliverance, healing, protection and prosperity, and make you whole!

Forgiven Of All Your Sins

Ephesians 1:7

7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

People have said to me, “Pastor Prince, I was taught that only my past sins — from the day I was born until the day I became a Christian — have been forgiven, and that my future sins are not forgiven until I confess them and seek forgiveness.”
Let me ask you: When Jesus died on the cross, how many of your sins were future? Unless you are more than 2,000 years old, all your sins were future when Jesus died for you! Jesus saw all your sins then, took them all and nailed them to the cross, and pronounced, “It is finished!” So if you are not forgiven of all, you are not forgiven at all.
“You mean, Pastor Prince, Jesus died for the sin I committed just a moment ago?”
Yes!
“And also for the sins that I’m sure I will commit during the rest of this year?”
Yes! That’s why He said, “It is finished!”
But we are inconsistent in our believing. Out of our mouths, we say, “It is finished.” Yet, we also say, “I must do something.” One part of us says, “God has forgiven me of all my sins.” But another part of us says, “Yes, but I must still confess my sins to be forgiven of them.”
My friend, you are forgiven not because of your work of confession. Confession has never been a work to earn you forgiveness. It is the blood of Jesus that cleanses and forgives you. You are forgiven because of the blood.
You cannot believe that you are forgiven of your past, present and future sins, and still think that there is something for you to do to make that forgiveness real or complete. If you do, then it becomes your work, not Jesus’. Jesus did not die on the cross to give us such a flimsy salvation. When He came to save us, He saved us to the uttermost — completely! (Hebrews 7:25)
Once you know that you are forgiven of all your sins, you confess because you have already been forgiven. You don’t confess to be forgiven. And even if you forget to confess, thank God you have a Saviour who also died for your forgetfulness!

What Have You Been Saying?

Psalm 91:2

2I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”

When a great storm arose as Jesus and His disciples were in a boat on the Sea of Galilee, He did not say to His disciples, “The storm is here to teach us courage.” Instead, He took authority over the storm and said, “Peace, be still! ” And there was a perfect calm. (Mark 4:39)
When He met the widow of Nain whose only son had died, and on another occasion, the two sisters whose brother Lazarus had died, He didn’t tell them, “God wanted to take him home.” No, He spoke to the dead son: “Young man, I say to you, arise.” (Luke 7:14) And standing outside Lazarus’ tomb, He said, “Lazarus, come forth!” (John 11:43) And both men came back to life.
What have you been saying about your situation?
When you feel the pain in your body, do not say of the Lord, “God wants me sick to teach me to trust Him more.” Instead, say, “Lord Jesus, I thank You that by Your stripes I am healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
While trying to make ends meet, do not say of the Lord, “The Lord keeps me poor to keep me humble.” Instead, say, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)
And if you have an intimidating boss at work, do not say, “The Lord is my patience, I will endure.” Instead, say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
We are living in the last days where there are terrorist bombings and new diseases being discovered, and the world is afraid. But we will not speak negative words and be fearful like the people of the world. Instead, we will speak God’s Word and reign over these things. Like the psalmist, we will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”
So find out what God’s Word says, believe it and say it to your situation. And because God’s Word cannot return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11), you will see what you believe and confess come to pass!

Your Double-Portion Inheritance

Isaiah 61:6–7, NIV

6And you will be called priests of the Lord... You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. 7Instead of their shame My people will receive a double portion… they will inherit a double portion in their land...

You are called “priests of the Lord” because Jesus has cleansed you with His blood and made you kings and priests to God. (Revelation 1:5–6) And as priests of the Lord, God says to you, “You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast.” And you will “inherit a double portion in their land”.
This promise came true for a church member who received his double portion while working for one of the top American companies in Singapore. Within a short time, he received two pay increments. And within just two years, he received an unexpected promotion to a senior post in the company. It was unexpected because the norm to qualify for such a promotion in the company was four years, but God shortened it to two years for him!
He was also named the recipient of a privileged stock award worth a five-figure sum, the net value of which was likely to double, judging by the then prevailing bullish stock market. He acknowledged that it was certainly God’s favour because past awardees were a very small number of top management personnel who had made significant contributions to the company. And only a small percent of their worldwide employees received this prestigious award. He was the second recipient, besides his boss, in the Singapore office to receive it!
This church member literally inherited a double portion — two pay increments, a promotion within two years and a stock award which was likely to double in value. Indeed, he was feeding on the wealth of the nations and boasting in their riches!
Beloved, God promises you that “My people will receive a double portion”. This double portion includes your blessings of favour, fruitfulness, success, riches and health. In fact, the people around you will look at you and your descendants, and acknowledge that you are a people that the Lord has blessed!

God Favours You Because He Loves You

1 John 4:19

19We love Him because He first loved us.

Have you ever found yourself receiving such exceeding favour that you wonder why?
My friend, it is because God is lavishing His grace — unearned, undeserved, unmerited favour — on you. God does it because He loves you.
I love reading the Old Testament story of Ruth, a young Moabite widow, because her story speaks of God’s amazing grace. The moment Ruth depended on God’s favour, she had full access to God’s blessings. Of all the many fields in Bethlehem, His grace led her to the field that belonged to Boaz, who was not only a wealthy bachelor but also a relative of her father-in-law. (Ruth 2:3) Boaz was therefore a possible kinsman-redeemer — someone who could redeem Ruth from her plight as a poor and childless widow.
It is clear that Boaz favoured Ruth from the moment he laid eyes on her. Ruth was not even a Jew, yet Boaz offered her protection by telling her not to glean in another field and to stay close by his young women. He even commanded the young men not to touch her and to allow her to drink the water they had drawn.
During mealtimes, he sat her beside the reapers although she was just a lowly gleaner who picked up what they had missed or left behind. On top of that, he gave her parched grain, making sure that she ate and was satisfied, and even had leftovers to bring back to her mother-in-law. (Ruth 2:1–18) Ruth simply believed that she would find favour in the field and God placed her at the right place at the right time so that He could open up such a door of blessings to her!
Do you know that Boaz is a beautiful picture of our Lord Jesus? The Bible says that “He first loved us”. Jesus saw you and loved you first, long before you knew Him or loved Him. And He favours whom He loves.
Beloved, there is no need to fight or struggle to qualify for God’s favour and blessings. His favour is all over you because He first loved you. Your part is to trust His love for you and enjoy His favour!

What You Are Conscious Of Will Manifest

1 John 4:4

4You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

If you have been to a circus performance or watched one on television, you may be familiar with a circus act involving a lion and its trainer. Have you ever wondered why, besides holding a whip, the trainer would arm himself with a stool and point its legs towards the big animal?
The whole idea is to distract the lion. You see, as powerful as the animal is, it can be immobilised by distractions. If this man-eater is not distracted from time to time, it might just maul the trainer to death!
The devil is like the trainer. He knows that you have all the power of God inside you “because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”. So what the devil tries to do is immobilise you with distractions.
For example, he may bring to your attention a pain in your body, which just refuses to go away, to distract you. And you find yourself going to a few medical journals or the Internet to find out more about the symptoms. You also decide to consult your doctor. And because you know of someone who has the same condition, you talk to him about it.
In the end, you are distracted by the pain, the symptoms, your findings, your doctor’s prognosis and your friend’s experience. And you find it hard to believe and focus on God’s Word about your healing. You have thus been immobilised and have become powerless.
The devil wants you to focus on your condition. When you are conscious of the symptoms in your body and your findings, you will see sickness manifest. But God wants you to focus on who you are and what you have in Christ. When you are conscious that you are the healed of the Lord in Christ, you will see healing manifest.
What you are conscious of, you will see manifest. So when you become conscious of Christ, who is all the power of God inside you, you will see that power manifest! And you will not be immobilised ever again!

For Your Greater Blessing

Romans 8:31
31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Whenever the devil throws something evil at us, you can be sure that God will turn it around for our greater blessing because He is for us.

When God first made man, He gave man dominion over everything on earth. (Genesis 1:26) But when Adam fell, sin and death entered the world and man lost his authority to the devil. So, did the devil win?

No! God executed His redemption plan by sending Jesus to die for us. And God wants us to know that Jesus’ death did not just restore us to the same position Adam had — in fact, it gave us a higher position!

When the Father raised Jesus from the dead, we who are in Christ were raised with Him. We are now seated with Him at God’s right hand in the heavenly places, “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come”. (Ephesians 1:21) Adam never had this position. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have received so much more.

The Bible also tells of how God promised to bring the children of Israel out of bondage and into a land flowing with milk and honey. (Exodus 3:17) The devil thought that he could foil God’s plan by putting giants in the promised land to stop God’s people from inheriting it.

But God outsmarted the devil. He allowed the giants to build their homes and cities, dig their wells and cultivate their crops until the right time. Then He brought the children of Israel into the land and evicted the giants!

God’s people ended up inheriting large beautiful cities which they did not build, houses full of all good things which they did not fill, hewn-out wells which they did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees which they did not plant. (Deuteronomy 6:10–11) Although the devil tried to prevent God’s plan for His people from coming to pass, they ended up receiving so much more!

Beloved, the devil may throw obstacles and evil circumstances at you, but God will turn those evil schemes around for your greater blessing because He is for you!

God Is Behind Your Increase

1 Corinthians 3:7

7So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

Sometimes, we think that the increase or success which we enjoy is the result of our own effort or hard work. But the truth is that God is the one behind our increase.
We get a fresh revelation of this truth when we read the story of Ruth, a young widow from Moab, who worked as a gleaner in a barley field from morning till evening. Now, we could attribute the entire ephah — a substantial 10-day supply — of barley she collected at the end of the day to her hard work. After all, she did work all day in the field.
But when we read about how Boaz, the owner of the field, had secretly told his reapers, “Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean…” (Ruth 2:16), we know that it was because of Boaz’s intervention that Ruth ended up with so much in so short a time.
I believe that Jesus, our heavenly Boaz, does the same thing for us too. The Lord causes people to favour us and drop blessings on us because He loves us. Then, He allows us to “pick up” these blessings. Often, it happens so seemingly naturally that we can forget that it is the Lord who has blessed us with our increase.
This was what happened to a church member who runs a florist business. God literally caused someone who needed a lot of flowers to “drop” a huge order with her shop one day!
This sister shared how her florist business had hardly made any money even though she had worked hard for many years. But when she became a Christian after coming to our church, she began to confess that God’s favour is on her every day. Within a few weeks, a big order worth $14,000 came from just one customer alone! Only God could have given her such a supernatural increase.
My friend, your hard work is not behind your increase. The Bible tells us that it is “God who gives the increase”. God is the one who is behind your increase and He delights in blessing you because He loves you!

Behold The Glory of Jesus In You

2 Corinthians 3:18

18But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

When you look in a mirror, what do you see? Of course, you see yourself.
Beloved, God does not want you to see yourself in the natural — small, troubled, weak, sick, broke and a loser. God wants you to see yourself the way He sees you — healed, strong, rich, whole and complete, because Christ is in you. (Colossians 1:27)
God wants you to behold as in a mirror the glory of His Son who is in you by His Spirit. As you behold the glory of the Lord who is in you, God’s Word says that you are being transformed from poor to rich, sick to healed, loser to winner — from glory to glory!
The world may say to you, “It can’t be that easy. You can’t be transformed just by beholding the glory of Jesus. No way! You must do something about you. If you don’t put in effort, nothing will happen. If you don’t do anything, nothing will change.”
But the world will never understand that as you are beholding the glory of the Lord who is the successful one in you, you are being transformed from a failure to a success. And this is not accomplished by any effort of yours, or by your working hard to get ahead of others, but by the Spirit of the Lord!
As you behold the glory of the Lord who is the healthy one in your sick body, you are transformed from sickness to health. And this is not accomplished by any effort of yours to keep fit and eat well, but by the Spirit of the Lord!
My friend, what can be easier than beholding the beauty of the Son? So stop focusing on self and self-effort. Look away from these things and begin to behold the glory of Jesus who is in you right now, and you will begin to behold the miracles that you need!

God Of The Small Things Too

John 21:9, 12

9Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread… 12Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.”

Like many parents, Wendy and I pray for our daughter Jessica before she sleeps every night.
When Jessica was two years old, we decided to pray that her diapers would not overflow during the night. Her diapers not overflowing might be just a small thing, but we knew it would give our little girl a comfortable sleep every night. And after we started praying, we noticed that her diapers did not overflow.
That incident made me realise that our God is not just interested in the big things that happen to us. He bothers and cares about the minor things in our lives too. There is nothing too small for Him. So don’t be like some religious people who have this idea that God only wants us to bring the big things to Him, and that He doesn’t want us to bother Him with small things.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Our God cares about everything that you experience — from the small ulcer in your mouth to your concern about the weather. When you tell Him about the inconvenience that might arise if the bus is late, He takes note of that too. In fact, when you come to Him often about anything and everything in your daily life, you compliment Him because you are telling Him that He is your Daddy God.
Jesus represented the Father’s heart and will while He was on earth. (John 5:19) Jesus cared when His disciples were out at sea the whole night, cold and shivering. He cared when they caught nothing that night. (John 21:3) He cared that they would not have fish to sell and would go hungry. So He gave them a huge catch early the next morning. (John 21:5–6) He knew that they were cold and hungry, so He prepared breakfast for them, served over a fire of coals to keep warm.
Jesus shows us that God is our loving heavenly Father who cares about the things that happen every day in our lives. Nothing escapes His eyes because He loves you!

Like Father, Like Son

Romans 8:16

16The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God...

Everything produces after its kind. Dogs give birth to puppies, cats give birth to kittens and tigers give birth to tiger cubs.
In the same manner, when you are born again, you are born of God. You are a child of the Most High God and He is your Father. He doesn’t see you in the flesh, He sees you in the Spirit. And His Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are His child.
So when the devil comes to you and says, “Well, your father died of cancer, his father died of cancer and you are going to die of cancer, just like your father,” you should say to him, “Yes, devil, you are right, I am like my father — my Father in heaven. I am a child of the Most High God. He doesn’t have cancer, so neither do I!”
In the same way, when you are born again of the Spirit, you are born to win. Because your Daddy God is a winner, you are too! When you wake up in the morning, say, “I am born to be a winner because God is a winner!”
When you say that you cannot afford to buy something that you need, you have forgotten which family you now belong to. You have been born again into a very rich family — your Father owns every beast in the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills! (Psalm 50:10) You have a Daddy God in heaven who can supply all your needs. (Philippians 4:19) Even if you don’t have the money now, you need not worry. Just ask God for the supply because your heavenly Father is rich.
When someone talks to you about a problem and asks, “What are we going to do about it?” you should say, “Don’t worry. Let’s talk to Daddy God about it. It’s not a problem for Him, so it will not be a problem for us.”
Even when all around you is going under, your Daddy God is still the same heavenly Father who kept Noah’s world afloat, his loved ones safe and sound, and his possessions intact. Your world will never go under because you are God’s beloved child!

Joint Heirs With Christ Jesus

Galatians 4:7

7Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

As long as you are born again, you are no longer a “slave”, but a son or daughter of the Most High God! And God does not just call you His son or daughter. He also calls you “an heir” through Christ. In fact, Romans 8:17 says that you are a “joint heir” with Christ.
As a joint heir with Christ Jesus, you inherit everything that He is. How precious Jesus is to the Father, is how precious you are to the Father. The way the Father loves Jesus, is the way the Father loves you!
How accepted are you by God today? Look at Jesus. That is how accepted you are! Christ is the measure of your acceptance. How favoured are you by God? Look at Jesus, who is seated at the Father’s right hand. You enjoy that same favour today because whatever Christ enjoys, you enjoy!
As a joint heir with Christ Jesus, you also inherit all that He has obtained from the Father. How much Jesus has, is how much you have. How prosperous is the one who made all things, and who put the gold, silver and diamonds in the earth? So are you in this world! (1 John 4:17)
I used to read the Bible to find out how to be a rich, successful and victorious Christian. But now, I read it to find out more about Jesus because I know that when I find Him, I find my every blessing in Him. (Ephesians 1:3, 2 Peter 1:3)
My friend, all that Jesus is in heaven today, you are in this world. All that belongs to Him, belongs to you. That is why it is in your interest to know Him more, to see Him in all His glory and beauty. And because Jesus is so rich and glorious, it will take you a lifetime to discover everything that He is for you and has for you.
Beloved, you are an heir of the Most High God. You are a joint heir with Christ Jesus. So find out all the blessings that your rich inheritance includes and start enjoying them today!

Pronounce Yourself Clean!

Matthew 8:3

3Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Most of us are familiar with the healing of the leper in Matthew 8. It is a beautiful account of God’s willingness to touch and heal the sick, no matter how unclean they may be. Whenever we doubt God’s willingness to heal us, we should listen to the words of Jesus again, who is the same yesterday, today and forever: “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Since the Bible is clear about God’s willingness to heal, why do we still have problems with our health? Why do we still experience attacks and symptoms in our bodies that seem to imply that we are not healed?
I believe that the answer is found in what Jesus told the leper to do next. He told him to go and show himself to the priest. (Matthew 8:4) This was the law then for lepers who were healed. (Leviticus 14:2–3) And he was to hear the priest pronounce the word “clean” over him. (Leviticus 14:7)
You see, as believers, when we received Jesus, His blood cleansed us from sin as well as sickness. (Isaiah 53:4–5) But we keep hearing people pronounce sin, sickness, poverty and death over us. We keep hearing people tell us we are unclean, undeserving, poor, weak, and that it is only natural that we grow old and sickly, and die.
God is waiting for a priesthood that will rise up and pronounce His people clean!
“But Pastor Prince, where can I find such priests?”
Who are the priests today? You and I! In fact, we have more authority to pronounce good things than the Levitical priests of the Old Testament. They were just priests. But we are king-priests by the blood of Jesus. (Revelation 1:5–6) Where the word of the king is, there is power. (Ecclesiastes 8:4) And by the word of a priest, every controversy and every assault shall be settled. (Deuteronomy 21:5)
Beloved, God has cleansed you, so pronounce yourself clean! Right now, put your hand on your heart and pronounce good things over yourself. Say, “I pronounce myself clean, righteous, healed, whole and prosperous by the blood of Jesus!” By your word as a king-priest, every assault against you shall be settled!

God's Blessings Are Yours To Take

Deuteronomy 28:2
2
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you…

God wants to bless you and He delights in blessing you. He has even declared that “all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you”. This means that you can’t run fast enough to escape them! When you turn one corner, there is a blessing waiting for you. When you turn another corner, you run smack into another blessing!

Now, you may think that you are disqualified by the first verse in Deuteronomy 28, which says that these blessings will come to pass only if you diligently obey God’s voice and keep all of His commandments. And you know that no matter how hard you try, you can never keep them all. If you fail to keep just one commandment, you disqualify yourself from the blessings of God!

My friend, I have good news for you: Jesus is the one who qualifies us for every single blessing because He kept all of God’s commandments. When He died for us on the cross, He not only fulfilled all of God’s commandments, He also redeemed us from the curse of the law. (Galatians 3:13) He did not redeem us from the blessings of the law, so the blessings are still ours today!

As you read the list of blessings in Deuteronomy 28, starting with “Blessed shall you be in the city… in the country… the fruit of your body… your basket… when you come in… when you go out…” (Deuteronomy 28:3–13), I believe Jesus is saying to you, “Like the blessings? Take them.”

You may say, “But I don’t deserve them.”

Yes, you don’t deserve them, but you still get them — undeserved blessings! The law says, “You must deserve the blessings.” But the law is no longer here. Grace is here. So take the blessings by grace through faith. Believe God for the blessings.

Today, it is no longer a question of how much or how well you have kept God’s commandments. It is a question of how much you can believe God for His blessings. All the promises of God in Christ are “Yes”, and because you are in Christ, you can say “Amen!” to your blessings! (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Christ Is The Treasure In You

2 Corinthians 4:7
7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

God’s Word says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels…” Who is the earthen vessel? You! Who is the treasure? Christ!

Thank God the treasure is in the earthen vessels. Christ the treasure is in you. So don’t get frustrated when you see your “earthiness”. You will always be earthen, but remember that Christ the treasure is in you.

So the next time you lose your cool and become impatient with your spouse or children, remember that Christ in you is your patience. When I feel impatient, I don’t say, “Lord Jesus, give me patience. And Lord, I need it now!” No, I look to Jesus and I say, “Lord Jesus, I thank you that You are my patience.”

In my younger days and even when I first got married, I had a bad temper. I tried all sorts of anger management techniques, but I never got very far in my anger management until I told God, “God, I’m so frustrated trying to overcome my anger. I give up! I cannot. You can. I rest and depend on You.” Not too long after that, my wife commented, “You know, you’ve changed in the area of your temper.”

I thought about what she had said and realised that I wasn’t even conscious of the change in me. That, to me, is a greater glory to God because when family members can see the patience of Christ manifesting through a naturally impatient person, God gets the glory as Christ the treasure in him or her shines forth.

My friend, you may be frustrated about your smoking and drinking habits or drug addiction. You may be exasperated about your feelings of jealousy, distrust, bitterness, depression and defeat. Don’t condemn yourself for being earthen. Don’t try to cast your earthiness out because there is nothing to cast out!

Just realise that you have Christ the treasure in you. The more you see that treasure, the more His brilliance shines forth in you. And in the midst of your earthiness, God gets the glory — and you yourself are transformed from glory to glory! (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Life Under The New Covenant

Hebrews 8:10
10
I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts.

What laws was God referring to when He said, “I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts”? God was certainly not referring to the Ten Commandments, known as the laws of the old covenant, since He said that He found fault with that covenant and declared it obsolete. (Hebrews 8:7–9, 13)

The laws that God puts in our minds and writes on our hearts refer to the royal law of love (Matthew 22:37–40), the perfect law of liberty (James 1:25), and the law of faith. (Romans 3:27) These are the laws of the new covenant. (Hebrews 8:8)

You live according to the laws of the new covenant when you know how much God loves you all the time. And the more you know God’s love for you, the more your heart is filled with love. You will love God and also the people around you supernaturally and effortlessly. That is God writing on your heart the royal law of love — that we love because He first loved us.

Secondly, when you know that you are perfectly accepted by God because of Jesus, you can have the courage and liberty as a child of God to come boldly into the presence of your heavenly Father who loves you so much. And in His presence, God is able to put in or write on your heart new desires and you will find yourself wanting to do the right things at the right time. You will live life victoriously from the inside out. This is the perfect law of liberty operating in your life.

When you sense what God is writing on your heart and putting in your mind, and as your faith is activated, causing you to trust Him, God calls it obeying the law of faith. When that happens, whatever you believe, you receive!

My friend, God has made it easy — and you will find that it is exciting — to live life under the new covenant!
